Are you starting a crystal collection? At a loss for what to do with all your new stones? Here's five new ideas to kick-start your practice.
Charm Bags
One of my personal favorite ways to use crystals is to put together a small charm bag or amulet for an intention.
For example, if you struggle with insomnia, try putting amethyst, lepidolite, and blue lace agate in a small sachet bag, then slip it under your pillow. You can add corresponding herbs, or a small slip of paper with your intention written on it.
It only takes a minute or two to create a simple spell like this, but it's certainly powerful.
Crystal Jewelry
Keeping crystals on your person is one of the easiest ways to incorporate them into your everyday life.
A simple crystal bead bracelet, a cage or locket necklace to interchange crystals in, or even just keeping a crystal in your pocket, helps keep that energy with you throughout the day.
Intentional crystal placement
Another way to seamlessly incorporate crystals into your daily life is placing them around your home with intention.
Try a large specimen of rose quartz or amethyst in the bedroom to calm the space, or small pieces of hematite or black obsidian in the corners of a room to protect it.
Additionally, a piece of citrine on your desk at work is a good choice to help you with luck and money.
Crystal baths
What better way to improve your self care routine than with crystals? Simply fill your bathtub with warm water and add a few crystals to it. Then sit back, relax, and soak up the energies.
An important note, though; be absolutely sure that your crystals are water safe. Some crystals contain elements that are harmful to people when absorbed or ingested.
Safe choices include amethyst, moonstone, citrine, tigers eye, quartz, rose quartz, green aventurine, some forms of jasper, and obsidian.
Crystal elixirs
One last use for your water safe crystals; try making an elixir to use in your spell work.
Simply place a clean crystal in a bowl of water and set it to charge in sun or moon light for 2 to 6 hours. Add a few drops of this liquid to your spells, tinctures, oils, or even your morning tea or coffee. You could even place it straight on your skin like a roller oil.
I cannot stress this enough; only use crystals that are safe in water. Do your research before you use a crystal in something meant for human consumption.
